Eberly Farm

So far we've done a demo at Eberly Farm for the York Company picnic. It was on Sept. 23, 2001. They even paid us money to do it. We had ten dogs and handlers demo flyball. Then we let the kids at the picnic choose a flyball dog and race against them. We had a little Papillon (Friday) all the way up to a big Airedale (Drummy) to choose from, with a bunch of super fast medium-size dogs in between. We always gave the kids a head start - after all dogs have four legs, kids only two. The dog had to jump all four jumps, retrieve the ball from the box, then carry the ball back over the jumps. The kid just had to run down to the box, get the ball, then run back without doing the jumps. After their run each kid got a Tootsie Pop. Both dogs and kids enjoyed it tremendously.

Petco

Tabitha, Remi, Abby and Sadie dared to demo flyball inside Petco. The store was full of yummy-smelling treats and strange dogs. We did the demo at Petco's request to show their basic obedience class what fun you can have with a well-trained dog. The dogs in the class watched the demo with almost as much enthusiasm as our dogs ran the course! We think they would all make good prospective flyball dogs! We were so proud of our dogs for ignoring the yummy smells and concentrating on their game. We hope to go back and do another demo at Petco soon.
